About
The Society for Technical Communication (STC) is an international, professional organization created by and for professionals working in the vast and diverse field of technical communication. The STC offers a great deal of support through local, regional and national volunteers and staff. In addition, the STC sponsors an annual conference where thousands of technical communicators come together to network and share their learning and work experiences. See 10 Reasons to Join STC (requires the free Acrobat Reader).
Special Interest Groups (SIGs) allow members to network and access others involved in specific areas of technical communication. Available SIGs include Consulting and Independent Contracting, Education and Research, Emerging Technologies, Information Design, Marketing Communication, Online Information, Usability, and more. See more about SIGs, and how to sign up.
Students also find the STC beneficial. In addition to regional student conferences and competitions, the STC provides the opportunity for students to further their education and develop their careers through STC scholarships and international networking opportunities.
